Fredrickson worked with a team from TIG Communications to revamp their intranet site. We began by holding facilitated discussions and card sort exercises with TIG team members in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Chandler (AZ), and Des Moines. We developed a new site structure and design based on this feedback. This design rated an average of 6.5 out of 7, a big improvement over the 3.5 rating of the existing site.
Prior to this project, we worked on a consultative basis with Wells Fargo communications analysts on an intranet standardization project for the company’s operations division. We developed a new site structure based on our analysis and user feedback. This site structure then became the basis for page templates that were developed. These templates made possible a standard structure and presentation for a reduced number of better-organized and managed operations intranet sites.
