Summary

Fredrickson met the challenge by developing a highly visual Help system that teaches users about finger-reading technology, calms their fears about web security, and provides step-by-step application instructions. Although the Help is context-sensitive and primarily task-based, users can quickly navigate to conceptual overviews or troubleshooting information once the Help interface is displayed.

We used lists, tables, and call-outs to accommodate the way web users commonly read — by scanning pages for the information they seek.
